Quality, Not What It Use To BeNov 17, 2009

Ordered the Dashmat for a '06 Taurus. The first problem was a month after the order, no sign of the product. Called customer service and was told the manufacturer of the Dashmat had gone out of business and a secondary vendor would now take overfilling the orders. The customer service person was really helpful and said my unit would soon arrive. Eventually it showed up but the quality was nowhere near that of past units. This would have been my fourth Dashmat over the years. This new vendor used a really cheap material for the Dashmat. It was considerably thinner than past units and had extremely shiny fibers on the top surface. This new "shiny" top surface now caused a really bad reflection on the windshield during daylight hours. This was totally unacceptable. The reflective glare from the Dashmat actually made it hazardous in my opinion to use. I immediately removed it and put it back in its box. I followed the instructions and sent it back for a credit. I never saw the credit appear on my charge card statement. When I called to inquire, I was told that the original helpful customer service person I had spoken to, had quit. I've given up hope on getting a credit. However, I have learned that I'll never buy another one of their products again. I believe the original Dashmat Company may have been bought out by the current company. Too bad, it was a nice product once upon a time...
